i been using different anti virus for a while, searching for the right one for my pc. until avg 8.0 free edition came, it solve my pc prblems.AVG 8.0 Free has the ff componentResident Shield is very active in scanning every file in details, but takes a lot of memoryRapid UpdatesForum supportVery nice GUI compared to competetitor AVAST, AVIRA and PC ToolsAnti-Virus and Anti spyware w/ link scanner (which is very useful, its like mc affe site advisor)Email ScannerCONS: TAKES A LOT OF MEMORY SPECIALLY THE RESIDENT SHIELDOverall its a complete package for a free anti virusits better to hav this on your machine together with Windows Defender. you will feel very protective.CompetitorsAvira - lacking of anti spyware, ang mail scanner(but takes very low system resources)Avast - lacking of schedule scanning(but also great)PC Tools - lacking of anti spyware(but very fast in scanning and takes very low system resources.
